These terms govern your use of SplitTable. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the app.

Who can use SplitTable

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must complete identity verification before joining or hosting tables.
• You must use your real name and a current photo of yourself as your profile picture.
• One account per person.

What SplitTable is

SplitTable lets verified adults discover, host and join group bookings at restaurants, bars and clubs ("tables"). The host books the venue; joiners apply, are reviewed by the host, and on approval split the bill at agreed terms. Currently in staging, all tables are free; paid tables will be reintroduced once our French commercial registration (SIRET) is finalised.

Your responsibilities

• Respect — no harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or threats. Zero tolerance.
• Honesty — accurate profile, real photos, no impersonation.
• Show up — if you're approved on a table, you commit to attending. Cancellations within 6 hours of the start time damage trust scores.
• Safety — meet in the public venue, never share home addresses, follow local laws and the venue's house rules.
• No commercial use — SplitTable is for personal social bookings, not for promoting businesses or services.

Our responsibilities

• We verify identities to keep the community trustworthy, but we can't guarantee any individual user's behaviour.
• We provide moderation tools and respond to reports within 24 hours.
• We're not a party to the booking itself — we facilitate the introduction; the table experience happens between you, your co-attendees, and the venue.

Account suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, fail identity verification, receive multiple credible reports, or use the service in a way that puts others at risk. We'll explain why, in plain language, when we can.

Liability

We provide the service "as is". To the extent permitted by French law, SplitTable is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including disputes between users or with venues. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights under French or EU law.

Changes

We may update these terms occasionally — particularly as features evolve. Material changes are flagged inside the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use SplitTable after a change counts as acceptance.

Governing law

French law governs these terms. Any disputes that can't be resolved by talking to us are subject to the jurisdiction of the French courts.
